AWS Certified SysOps Administrator:
The AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate (SOA-C02) exam is for system administrators, particularly in cloud operations roles. Through this exam, a candidate will develop the ability to deploy, manage, and operate workloads on AWS.

The exam also develops a candidate’s ability to complete a set of tasks like Support and maintaining AWS workloads according to the AWS Well-Architect Framework that performs operations by using the AWS Management Console and the AWS CLI. It also implements security controls to meet compliance requirements. It applies networking concepts (for example, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls). It also implements architectural requirements (for example, high availability, performance, capacity). At last, it also performs business continuity and disaster recovery procedure.
The objective of the exam: AWS Certified
The candidate should have 1 year of experience with deployment, management, networking, and security on AWS. AWS Sysops Certification recommended general IT knowledge before giving the test. The target candidate should have some technical knowledge such as they should have 1–2 years of experience as a systems administrator in an operations role. They should have experience in monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
They should have proficient knowledge of networking concepts (for example, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls). The ability to implement architectural requirements (for example, high availability, performance, capacity) should be on the bucket list.
Experience before appearing the exam:
There is some AWS knowledge that the target candidate should have before the test. They should have a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with AWS technology. They should also have experience in deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS. Sprintzeal Candidate should have an understanding of the AWS Well-Architect framework. The candidate should also have hands-on experience with the AWS Management Console and the AWS CLI. Understanding AWS networking and security services is a must.
What is considered out of scope for the target candidate:
The following is a non-exhaustive list of related job tasks that the target candidate is not expected to be able to perform in the course of AWS. These items are considered out of scope for the exam: firstly, design distributed architectures. Secondly, design continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Thirdly, design hybrid and multi -VPC networking. The candidate should have depth knowledge about security, compliance, and governance requirements
There are three types of questions in exams. They are multiple-choice, multiple responses, and lab exams. In multiple-choice and multiple responses, they have to select one or more responses that best complete the statement or answer the question. Distractors are generally responses that are plausible. All multiple-choice and multiple-response questions will appear at the start of the exam in the first section. The end of this section will include a review screen, where you can return to any of the multiple-choice and multiple-response questions.
The exam labs section will appear after the multiple-choice and multiple-response sections. You will not be able to go back to the first section after you have to start the second section. Exam labs: Complete the required tasks for a given scenario in the AWS Management Console or AWS CLI in the provided AWS account. When you begin your exam, you will receive a notification about the total number of questions in the multiple-choice and multiple-response section, and the number of exam labs in the exam lab section.
You will also come to know the percentage of your score that will be determined by your work in the exam labs. Always plan to leave 20 minutes to complete each exam lab. Finish all the remaining work on an exam lab before you move to the next exam lab. You will not be able to return to a prior exam lab once completed. You can use the virtual machine notepad or AWS CLI while working on your exam labs.
This exam guide includes weightings, test domains, and objectives for the exam. It is not about the comprehensive listing of the content on the exam. However, the additional context for each of the objectives is available to act as a guide for your preparation for the exam. The percentage in each domain represents only scored content. Thus, this exam is important and it should be done with proper planning.
